Tory Suehs is Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years working with children and families in residential and out-patient mental health. She earned her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Behavioral Science & Law with a Criminal Justice certificate from UW-Madison, and her Masters of Arts in Community Counseling from Lakeland University.
Tory has worked with clients who struggle with anxiety, anger management, cognitive delays, peer difficulties, oppositional defiant disorder, sensory concerns, have experienced trauma, or have sexually reactive behaviors.
Tory believes that everyone is unique and that it is important to have a toolbox of skills to help individuals find skills and solutions that will work for them. She loves working with kids and families, helping them envision and look forward to their futures, reach their goals, and be successful.
Tory has as strengths-based, person centered approach and training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, Brainspotting, play therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma informed care, Aggression Replacement therapy and animal-assisted therapy. Tory developed a therapy dog program while working in residential and has a dog, Sage, who has been a therapy dog for over 5 years, working in a residential facility,out-patient clinics, and visiting libraries and schools.
Outside of work, Tory enjoys riding horses, playing with her dogs, spending time with family and friends and genealogy research.
